Fair Isle Knits

Needlecrafts - Crochet - Daria McGuire Patterns

Design ideas and implementing them has been a way of life for me or rather a life force.
Creative stitchery was the first outlet outlet for my creativity.
Needlepoint, embroidery, bargello became a passion. I sold hand painted canvases and travelled to New York where I was lucky enough to have many of my designs published.
Next came knitting when I left teaching and worked for a prominant yarn manufacturer in Toronto, working my way from the bottom and learning so much about yarn manufacturing and commercial design.
The design department consisted of group of wonderful Irish and Scottish ladies who took me under their wing and really taught me the proper way to knit.
Going to trade shows inspired me to reach further afield and design more.
My break came when a Canadian yarn chain hired me to set up a pattern programme for yarns they imported from Europe.
This position was a great training and educated me about what yarn and patterns customers wanted to knit.
Finally I was asked to take on more responsibility with another yarn manufacturer and involvement with yarn and programme development. Fortunate and grateful are two very important words to describe these experiences.
The strap cost me all of 3 bucks, a bargain.
The button is vintage, again part of my vast collection of buttons.

Make your new spring bag out of the suggested yarn or any bulky yarn you like. Enjoy!
